I. Overview of the Z2 Series DC Motors
1. Compliance: JB1104-68—Ministry-issued standard for small-sized DC motors.
2. Applicable to general normal operating environments. Motors are used for general-purpose drive applications; generators serve as general DC power sources; and voltage-regulating generators are used for battery charging.
3. Excitation method: Motors feature shunt or separately excited excitation with a small stabilizing winding. Separately excited motors are available with excitation voltages of either 110 V or 220 V. For motors rated at 110 V armature voltage, only 110 V separate excitation is provided.
4. Motors may be driven via V-belts, spur gears, or elastic couplings; motor shafts are not designed to withstand axial thrust.
5. Upon special agreement, motors suitable for humid tropical regions—featuring moisture-, mold-, and fume-resistant properties (designated TH type)—can be supplied.
6. The basic series employs self-ventilation. When speed is reduced by lowering the applied armature voltage, torque decreases proportionally with speed.
7. These are general-purpose small industrial DC motors. Motors are suitable for constant-power speed control within a range not exceeding 2:1 and overload capability not exceeding 1.5 times rated torque, applicable to electric drives in metal-cutting machine tools, papermaking, dyeing & weaving, printing, cement production, and similar industries. Generators can supply power for mechanical drives, lighting, or other constant-voltage applications.
II. Construction and Mounting Configurations of the Z2 Series DC Motors
1. Motors feature a single-direction cylindrical shaft extension; double-shaft extensions are available upon request. Motors with frame sizes No. 1–6 (per Section I, Clause 4) can transmit rated torque using any of the specified transmission methods. For frame sizes No. 7–11, rated torque transmission is achievable only when coupling is used at the commutator-end shaft extension; V-belt or spur-gear transmission at this end is limited to 50% of rated torque.
2. For horizontal-mount motors, the terminal box is located on the left side of the frame when viewed from the drive-end (shaft extension end). Upon request, it may be relocated to the right side—but this must be explicitly specified at time of order.
3. Z2 series motors operate normally in either clockwise or counterclockwise rotation.
4. For Z2 series generators and voltage-regulating generators, standard rotation—as viewed from the drive-end—is counterclockwise. Clockwise rotation is available upon request, but must be specified at time of order.
III. Performance Specifications of the Z2 Series DC Motors
1. Basic series DC motors offer armature voltages of 110 V and 220 V, with rated speeds of 3000 r/min, 1500 r/min, 1000 r/min, 750 r/min, and 600 r/min. Technical data are listed in Table 3.
2. Basic series DC generators offer rated voltages of 115 V and 230 V, with rated speeds of 2850 r/min, 1450 r/min, and 960 r/min. Technical data are listed in Table 4.
3. Basic series DC generators also offer rated voltages of 110 V/160 V and 220 V/320 V, with rated speeds of 2850 r/min and 1450 r/min. Technical data are listed in Table 5.
4. In addition to the above three basic series, derivative models with armature voltages of 180 V (see Table 6) and 440 V (see Table 7) are available. Special specifications are detailed in Table 8.
5. Beyond the listed specifications, any motor model may be customized to other voltage ratings (not exceeding the maximum allowable voltage for that model), along with corresponding power and speed ratings—subject to separate negotiation.
IV. Ordering Instructions for the Z2 Series DC Motors
SIMO Z2 Series Small DC Motors—Ordering Guidelines: When placing an order, specify the motor model and exact configuration—including excitation method, direction of rotation, terminal box position, double-shaft extension requirement, structural type, etc. Example: Z2-62, 13 kW, 220 V, 1500 r/min separately excited motor; separate excitation voltage: 220 V; horizontal mounting base with feet; flanged end shield.
Supplementary components—including matched induction motors, rheostats, brushes, brush holders, etc.—as well as special requirements (e.g., humid tropical version) or requests for foreign-language documentation, must be explicitly stated in the purchase contract.

V. Technical Parameters of the Z2 Series DC Motors
The standard terminal lead orientation—facing the drive shaft (non-commutator end)—is left-side for generators. Standard rotation direction—facing the drive end—is clockwise.
This motor series is rated for continuous operation under the following conditions:
1. Altitude not exceeding 1000 m.
2. Ambient air temperature not exceeding 40 °C.
