TFW Large High-Voltage Phase-Compound Excited Brushless Synchronous Generator
The TFW large-capacity high-voltage phase-compound-excited brushless synchronous generator comprises an uncontrolled excitation system consisting of a voltage regulator (including auxiliary winding, reactor, current transformer, and static rectifier bridge), an exciter, and a rotating rectifier. When the voltage regulator KXT is put into service, the uncontrolled system becomes controllable, significantly improving voltage regulation performance.

Overview of TFW Large High-Voltage Phase-Compound Brushless Synchronous Generators
TFW large high-voltage phase-compound brushless synchronous generators can be coupled with prime movers such as internal combustion engines, steam turbines, or hydraulic turbines to form generator sets. They serve as either standby or primary power sources, directly supplying power to loads or feeding into the utility grid.
The TFW large high-voltage phase-compound brushless synchronous generator features an uncontrolled excitation system comprising a voltage-regulating device (including auxiliary windings, reactors, current transformers, and a static rectifier bridge), an exciter, and a rotating rectifier. When the voltage regulator KXT is engaged, the system transitions from uncontrolled to controlled operation, significantly improving voltage regulation performance.
The TFW large high-voltage phase-compound brushless synchronous generator offers a power range of 1000–14,000 kW; rated voltages available include 2400 V, 3150 V, 4160 V, 6300 V, 6600 V, 10,500 V, 11,000 V, and 13,800 V; frequency options are 50 Hz or 60 Hz; typical power factor is 0.8 (lagging); and performance complies with the relevant provisions of China’s national standard GB755, “General Technical Requirements for Rotating Electrical Machines”.
TFW Large High-Voltage Phase-Compound Brushless Synchronous Generator Model Designation and Meaning
Brief Structural Description of TFW Large High-Voltage Phase-Compound Brushless Synchronous Generators
The TFW large high-voltage phase-compound brushless synchronous generator adopts a horizontal mounting configuration with single-shaft extension. It utilizes pedestal-type bearings, with the exciter poles positioned externally to the pedestal bearing. Cooling methods can be customized per customer requirements—enclosed, semi-ducted, or ducted ventilation with closed-loop circulation. Rotation direction, viewed from the drive-end shaft extension, is clockwise. The protection class is IP21 or IP23.
Frame: Constructed as an integral welded structure from steel plates; bearing pedestals are individually mounted onto a welded steel baseplate.
Stator Core: Built by stacking 0.5 mm thick silicon steel sector laminations, both sides of which are coated with insulating varnish. The stator core is secured to the frame using tension bolts or dovetail keys.
Stator Windings: Double-layer lap-wound coils, insulated to Class B or Class F.
Poles: Fabricated from thin steel laminations stamped and stacked; pole cores are wound with pole windings, and complete pole assemblies are mounted on pole shoes.
Pole Windings: Wound from flat copper conductors and insulated to Class B or Class F.
Bearings: Comprising cast-iron bearing pedestals and babbitt-lined bearing shells; lubrication is provided via oil-ring self-lubrication or a combined system incorporating external oil supply.
Exciter: A rotating-field type exciter; the main generator rotor, exciter rotor, and rotating rectifier rotate coaxially. The exciter stator frame is mounted on the same baseplate as the main generator frame and located externally to the bearing pedestal.
