Troubleshooting methods for frequent tripping of Xi’an vibration motors

Repair Methods for Frequent Tripping of Xi’an Vibrating Motors

1. Inconsistent or aged capacity of the vibrating motor’s air circuit breaker and overcurrent protector.

2. The output cable of the vibrating motor has its insulation sheath damaged.

3. Deterioration of the magnetic circuit performance of the vibrating motor, causing excessive current.

4. Bearing damage or oil deficiency/blockage, resulting in overload tripping.

5. Power supply issues with the vibrating motor or aging of the circuit breaker. To ensure normal operation of the vibrating motor, in addition to correct usage per operating procedures and routine operational monitoring, periodic inspection and maintenance are also required. Main contents include:

1) Clean the exterior of the vibrating motor, promptly remove dust and sludge; inspect and clean motor terminals; check whether connection screws are loose or scorched.

2) Inspect the transmission assembly—including pulleys or couplings—for cracks, damage, or insecure mounting.

3) Periodically inspect and clean the motor bearings, and replace lubricating oil or grease.

II. Operation, Maintenance, and Storage of Vibrating Motors

Bearings of vibrating motors shall be lubricated regularly—typically every 2–3 months. Lubrication is performed using a grease gun at the motor’s grease fitting, or by removing the oil plug. The recommended grease quantity is one-third to one-half of the bearing housing volume. Minor maintenance on vibrating motors is generally carried out every 4–6 months, and major maintenance annually. During minor maintenance, accumulated dust inside the machine is removed; coil insulation resistance and wiring integrity are checked; potential hazards are identified and addressed promptly. During major maintenance, the motor is disassembled to remove dust accumulated both internally and externally; bearing wear is inspected; connections, grounding, and fastening bolts are checked for looseness and tightened as needed; and fresh grease is applied. If abnormal noise is detected during vibrating motor operation, immediately stop the motor before restart and troubleshoot the fault.

Vibrating motors allow a certain degree of axial clearance. The shaft and bearings operate with dynamic fit. When single-row tapered roller bearings are used, axial clearance must be controlled between 0.30–0.35 mm. Excessive clearance may easily cause motor scanning (rubbing) and burnout of the motor bore. When not in use, vibrating motors must be stored in a well-ventilated, dry warehouse. Corrosive gases must not be present in the storage area, and newly stored vibrating motors shall be inspected periodically. Vibrating motors serve as the vibration source for vibratory screening machines. The magnitude of exciting force is determined by the size of the vibrating screen and its material handling capacity. Since screening machines differ in weight and processing capacity from micro-screw feeders, different-sized vibrating motors are employed. 3. Vibrating motors act as the excitation source for hammer crushers in vibratory screening machines. The magnitude of exciting force is determined by the vibrating screen’s dimensions and material handling capacity. As screening machines vary in weight and processing capacity, correspondingly different-sized vibrating motors are used. Excessively high exciting force may cause cracking of the vibrating screen; insufficient exciting force fails to achieve the desired screening effect and may lead to material buildup and blockage. Causes of frequent tripping of multi-layer vibrating screen motors: 1. Inconsistent or aged capacity of the arc-screen vibrating motor’s air circuit breaker and overcurrent protector. 2. Output cable of the plate-chain bucket elevator’s vibrating motor has damaged insulation sheathing. Vibratory feeder; 3. Bearing damage or oil deficiency/blockage causing overload tripping. 4. Power supply issues with the vibrating motor or aging of the circuit breaker’s feeder panel. 5. Deterioration of the magnetic circuit performance of the vibrating motor, causing excessive current in single-stage hammer crushers.

Daily maintenance of circular vibrating screens and vibrating machinery;

1. Prior to startup:

Check whether the coarse and fine mesh vibrating motors on the conveyor are damaged

Verify whether each set of retaining rings is securely locked

Warehouse wall vibrator

2. During startup: (a) Listen for abnormal noise; (b) Confirm stable power supply; (c) Check uniformity of vibration

3. After use: Clean thoroughly after each use; perform regular maintenance; corrugated-edge conveyor

4. After the motor has operated for approximately two weeks, replenish lithium-based grease (ZL-13) promptly. After 1500 hours of operation, inspect the bearings; if damaged, replace them immediately on the ZSK linear double-deck vibrating screen.
