Causes of Strain in Aluminum Die-Cast Components and Repair Methods

Shaanxi AsynchronousSIMO MotorInformation: Society continues to develop rapidly. The use of aluminum die-cast components has also become extremely widespread. Products are primarily used in the petroleum, industrial, and mining sectors. In our daily lives, aluminum die-cast end shields for motors are mainly used in automobiles; hence, many people categorize automotive die-cast parts separately. Strain marks on aluminum die-cast components are predominantly linear, aligned with the mold-opening direction. If such marks possess a certain depth, severe cases may result in full-scale strain. Adhesion between the mold surface and molten metal causes material deficiency on the casting surface of motor aluminum die-cast end shields. The primary causes of defects in aluminum die-cast components include cavity surface damage, slight inclination in the demolding direction, unbalanced demolding, or mold loosening. Remedies for aluminum die-cast components involve timely repair of damaged surfaces on motor aluminum die-cast end shield molds, correction of mold inclination, improvement of mold surface finish, and balancing ejection force during ejector pin adjustment.

The SIMO Motor Spare Parts Center holds that, when using aluminum die-cast components, mold temperature control must be precise—specifically, the mold temperature must reach 200°C. During this control process, temperature accuracy is critical; therefore, dedicated mold temperature controllers must be employed for aluminum die-casting. After a period of operation, the release agent used for motor aluminum die-cast end shields must be replaced promptly; furthermore, after rationally adjusting the iron content in the aluminum alloy and cooling time, modifications to the internal gate of the finished product must be made promptly.
