The Z4 Series DC Motors are widely applicable across various industrial sectors—including metallurgical rolling mills, metal-cutting machine tools, papermaking, dyeing and weaving, printing, cement production, and plastic extrusion machinery—and are suitable for electric drive applications requiring broad speed-adjustment ranges and overload capacity not exceeding 1.6 times rated value. Constant-power field-weakening speed-up range (above base speed) varies by model and reaches 1.0–3.0 times rated speed; constant-torque speed-down range (below base speed), achieved by reducing armature voltage, extends down to as low as 20 rpm.

Z4-450-42/500 kW/440 V/400 rpm—Ordering Guidelines for Z4 Series DC Motors for Rolling Mills  

 1. Prior to ordering, please consult the product catalog to confirm required model specifications and other data; whenever possible, select standard-specification products listed in the catalog. In the purchase contract, clearly specify motor model, power rating, voltage, rotational speed, excitation method, excitation voltage, and mounting configuration—for example: Z4-180-31   37 kW   440 V   1000 r/min, separately excited, 180 V, horizontal with feet (IMB3).  

 2. Any special requirements—for instance, dual shaft extensions, reversed terminal box position, or reverse-direction shaft rotation—must be explicitly stated in the contract.  

3. If the required model or specification falls outside this catalog’s listings—or if other special requirements apply—the contract or trial-manufacturing agreement shall be signed upon mutual agreement between both parties.  

4. Except for the key on the motor’s output shaft, no accessories are supplied with any product. Should users require accessories or spare parts—such as brushes or brush holders—they must specify the names, specifications, and quantities of such items in the contract prior to order placement.  

5. For operation in special environments requiring humid-tropical-type construction, append “TH” to the original model designation.
